Overview
Mexico is entering a golden era for logistics as severe disruption to global supply chains makes players rethink their commercial routes and take a second look at the many benefits that the country has to offer. To start, Mexico enjoys a free trade agreement with the biggest economy in the world, the US, as well as Canada, and is in a privileged geographical location with connections to Asia, Europe, and North and South America. It also boasts a skilled workforce. In this panel, speakers will be discussing personal experiences nearshoring to Mexico, as well as the opportunities and challenges that the country holds as it grows as a global hub for logistics.

Rogelio Jiménez Pons is an architect and graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His professional experience has led him to specialize in urban development and planning, as well as in regional development plans and strengthening tourism in southeastern Mexico. He was awarded first prize for urban planning at the II Biennale Mondiale de L ́archiitecture INTERARCH, of the International Union of Architects. From December 1, 2018 to January 11, 2022, he served as General Director of Fonatur, the institution in charge of the priority project Tren Maya. Currently, he is the Undersecretary of Transportation at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation.

Altagracia Gómez Sierra is chairman of the Council of MINSA, a company of Grupo Empresarial G, which she joined as CEO. She serves as a member of the board of directors. She is the deputy general director of Almer and is in charge of the energy division of the conglomerate.
She has a law degree with three honorable mentions from the Escuela Libre de Derecho. She has also completed various academic programs at the Royal Academy of Oxford and she took two finance and trading courses from Harvard Business School (HBX). Additionally, she conducts the weekly television program “Prospecciones” on C7 Jalisco, together with the State Secretary of Education, Alfonso Gómez, and various distinguished guests.

Luis Manuel Hernández González is a public accountant from Mexicali with as master's in business administration and a doctorate in business. He started his career in 1997 at an important company in the medical industry. Hernández is also co-author of Finance Unleashed, a book published in Europe and the US by Grupo SKG in 2017. In collaboration with the Secretariat of Economic Development, he created the first manual for investment in Baja California in 2016. He is currently an advisor for Grupo Financiero Banorte, NAFIN, and the economic development of San Diego. He received a recognition as CrossBorder Leader of the Year 2020 by the Government of California thanks to his contribution to the governments of Baja California and California.
